Goats

One of the newer additions to the farm is a small goat herd we started last year. This season, we have three does and their comical kids. They are kept with the sheep during the grazing season, and eat the weeds, brush, and an occasional branch of a tree that the sheep won't. One of the mother goats pushes over the tree, and the rest eat all the leaves. We couldn't figure out how a twenty foot tree was denuded until we saw them in action.

Our goats are primarily the stocky Boer breed. They are real characters, much more outgoing and inquisitive than the sheep.
